A person was fatally shot Monday evening near San Francisco’s Hallidie Plaza, the police said.
The shooting was reported around 5:30 p.m. April 14 at Turk and Mason streets, a block from the Market Street plaza that includes BART’s Powell Street station and the cable car turnaround.
The victim died at the scene.
The police said a suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting; they released no name or possible motive.
In 2024, a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Hallidie Plaza and a 74-year-old woman died after she was shoved into the side of a train at the Powell Street station.
