San Jose police arrested two men on suspicion of selling narcotics and running an illegal gambling site out of a house, according to a department news release.

The suspects are two men in their 40s from San Jose. They were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail. One of the suspects is being held without bail, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 22 at 8:30 a.m. The other suspect could not immediately be found with the county’s inmate locator.
While working on an ongoing narcotics investigation, METRO Unit Officers with the San Jose police found evidence of illegal narcotic sales coming from a house running an illegal gambling operation in the 1400 block of Meadow Glen Way.
They identified the suspects and obtained a search warrant for the house. On Oct. 3, officers executed the search warrant. They found a loaded, privately manufactured gun with no identifiable serial number, a short-barreled shotgun, ammunition, methamphetamine, money and seven large illegal gambling machines and various other drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were not allowed to possess firearms due to prior convictions.
