LAS VEGAS — The San Jose Sharks acquired the 11th overall selection in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday in exchange for the 14th and 42nd overall picks.
The move gives the Sharks more options regarding who they want to select. The No. 14 pick they had came as part of last August’s Erik Karlsson trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The No. 42 overall pick, in the second round, was acquired by San Jose from New Jersey as part of the trade that sent forward Timo Meier to the Devils in February 2023.
The Sharks now have nine selections in this year’s draft, including two in the top 11 and five in the first three rounds.
