SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks placed defenseman Timothy Liljegren on injured reserve on Thursday.
Liljegren sustained an upper body injury in the Sharks’ 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, and will not be eligible to return until Oct. 22, meaning he will miss at least the next three games. The Sharks travel to play the Utah Mammoth on Friday, host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, and begin a four-game road trip against the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
