San Pedro celebrates July 4 early with Cars and Stripes Forever event

It wasn’t the Fourth of July yet — but San Pedro partied like it was.

The Port of Los Angeles and San Pedro once again got an early jump on the red-white-and-blue summer holiday on Friday night, June  27, during the annual Cars and Stripes Forever blow-out, featuring classic cars and motorcycles, live music, dancing, and a spectacular finale of fireworks over the harbor under the Vincent Thomas Bridge.

Every year, hundreds of people come out to celebrate the carefree spirit of summer with the pre-Independence Day, patriotic, family-friendly event on Harbor Boulevard and Swinford Street.

Food trucks and a beer garden rounded out the festivities, which helped get everyone in the mood ahead of America’s birthday celebration.
