Saratoga residents report residential, vehicle burglaries

Oct. 2

Theft by access card: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their debit card information to make two unauthorized ATM withdrawals totaling approximately $426.

Oct. 3

Check forgery: A Saratoga resident reported that someone obtained a check the victim mailed out from a US Post Office, then altered and attempted to cash the check for approximately $24,000, but the victim contacted the bank and stopped the transaction in time.

Harassment: A Saratoga resident reported that someone sent them multiple obscene text messages.

Oct. 4

Vehicle burglary, vehicle tampering: Between 2:45 a.m. and 7 a.m., someone broke a door lock and entered a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 12000 block of Brookglen Drive. The suspect then opened the garage door of the residence with a remote in the vehicle but did not enter the garage. Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle or residence.

Oct. 5

Residential Burglary: Between Oct. 2 and Oct. 5, someone entered a residence in the 21000 block of Sarahills Drive by breaking a bathroom window. The house was searched, but details of any stolen property weren’t provided.

Vehicle burglary: Someone broke through a window of a vehicle parked at the Gate House condos on Fourth Street overnight and stole camping supplies and snow chains for a loss valued at approximately $200.
