School evacuated as pupils sent home after sudden closure – with parents not told why

A SECONDARY school has been evacuated in a sudden closure.

All pupils were urgently sent home from Meadow Park School, in Coventry, following an “incident” this morning.

Meadow Park Secondary School was evacuated just after 8.30am

Cops raced to the scene just before the school day was about to start around 8.30am on Monday.

Year 11 kids were sent to another nearby school so they could continue with lessons ahead of sitting GCSE exams.

It is not yet known why Meadow Park was evacuated.

Parents have said the unexplained shutdown has left them “worried”.

One mum said she hasn’t been told the reasoning behind it or had any updates.

A school spokesperson said: “Due to an evacuation, school is closed for all students except for Year 11.

“Alternative arrangements are being made for their exams. Please send Year 11 students to school as normal, where they will receive further instructions.

“School was closed today as a precautionary measure. School will reopen as normal to all students tomorrow morning (June 11).

“Thank you for your support with this.”

The Sun has contacted West Midlands Police for comment.
