Pregnant teenager Bella Culley, who was held in Georgia accused of drugs trafficking, has returned to the UK after being freed.

The teen, 19, from Teesside, welcomed the news of her surprise release yesterday after having been locked up since May 10.

Surrounded by family and friends, Bella touched down at Luton airport this evening after Georgian officials granted her release despite being found guilty.

Bella and her mum Lyanne Kennedy, who has remained by her side through the ordeal, were seen checking in at Tbilisi airport earlier today.

The 19-year-old, who is heavily pregnant, was detained at Tbilisi International Airport after she was found to be carrying 12kg of marijuana and 2kg of hashish in her luggage.

Drug trafficking in the country could lead to life imprisonment or 15 years behind bars.

Bella was facing a two-year sentence until her sudden release due to the time she had already served.

She claimed she agreed to smuggle the drugs from Thailand because of being tortured with a hot iron and videos of beheadings shown by a Thai gang.
