The Sky added Latricia Trammell to their coaching staff, the team announced on Monday. Trammell was head coach of the Wings for two seasons, leading them to a franchise-best 22 wins in 2023. She was let go from Dallas after the 2024 season and most recently served as a special assistant on the Sparks’ staff in 2025.
“Latricia’s three decades of coaching experience and impressive resume make her a thrilling addition to the staff,” head coach Tyler Marsh said in a statement. “She’s produced impressive results at every level of her career and will be key in elevating the Sky.”
Trammell will be the second assistant on Marsh’s staff with WNBA head coaching experience. Assistant coach Tanisha Wright led the Dream for three seasons before being let go and joining Marsh’s staff. She’s known as a defensive specialist who made the All-Defense team five times as a player.
Like with Wright, general manager Jeff Pagliocca values Trammell’s defensive acumen. It should help complement second-year coach Marsh, whose strengths are in player development and offensive schemes.
Trammell will replace assistant coach Courtney Paris, Pagliocca told the Sun-Times. Paris served one season on Marsh’s staff, focusing on post development. She also served on Trammell’s staff in Dallas.
The Sky enter the offseason with four players under contract: Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, Maddy Westbeld, and Hailey Van Lith. Veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot has also indicated she’s returning to the team next year, and the team plans to bring over their No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, Slovenian wing Ajša Sivka.
The Sky will also have the No. 5 pick in the 2026 draft.
The No. 5 selection was the most likely outcome for the Sky, who acquired the pick in a trade with the Sun last year. The Wings will draft first once again.
