Forget the surf, because this beachside city is all about ice ice, baby, this winter with the return of the long running Ice at Santa Monica skating rink.
Tickets are now on sale for the Santa Monica’s annual holiday rink, which runs Nov. 7-Jan. 19 at 1324 Fifth St.
A grand opening celebration is set for Nov. 7 when people can skate for free from 6 to 10 p.m. The night will include a DJ spinning tunes, skating performances and even a “snow surprise” according to a press release.
Throughout the ice season skaters can also expect themed nights including Classical Sundays when people can glide through the ice to the sounds of classical music. And since the city is partnering with Hulu and Disney this year every Tuesday will be a themed night featuring films like “Home Alone” and “Die Hard.”
One of the more popular nights will likely be on Dec. 13 when the ice rink goes all out for a Taylor Swift birthday celebration, so expect to hear her music and see a lot of skaters dressed up like the pop star. And that event will be followed by a New Year’s Eve East Coast countdown party on the ice from 7:30-10 p.m.
