Someone brandishes knife, makes criminal threats at Saratoga residence

Sept. 21

Organized retail theft At 2:05 p.m., deputies responded to a theft call at Ace Hardware in the Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An investigation revealed three suspects entered the store, acted in concert and stole merchandise valued at approximately $600. The merchandise was recovered, and one suspect, who had prior theft convictions, was arrested and booked into main jail.

Sept. 22

Stolen/recovered vehicle: Between Sept. 19 and Sept. 22, someone stole a trailer from the 12000 block of Titus Avenue. The trailer was located and recovered in San Jose but was missing tools of unknown value.

Sept. 23

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information to access the victim’s investment account and attempted to withdraw money. The victim cancelled the transaction, resulting in no financial loss.

Theft by false pretenses: A Saratoga resident reported that someone called them impersonating the victim’s son and an attorney, and claimed the victim’s son was involved in a legal matter and needed bail money. The victim went to the bank, withdrew $15,000, then returned home, all while staying on the phone with the suspect. A courier then went to the victim’s residence in the 19000 block of De Havilland Court and collected an envelope containing the money.

Sept. 24

Check fraud: A Saratoga resident reported that someone obtained a check they mailed out, then altered, forged and cashed the check for a loss of about $18,500.

Criminal threats, brandishing a weapon: At 3:41 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 19000 block of Oakhaven Drive. An investigation revealed an argument occurred, and the suspect brandished a knife and made criminal threats. The suspect fled the scene but was arrested the following day and booked into main jail.

Sept. 26

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their information to access a financial earnings account and withdrew approximately $1,262.

Residential burglary: Between 9:12 a.m. and 9:18 p.m., someone entered a residence in the 13000 block of Paseo Presada and stole property of an unknown value.

Commercial burglary: At 10:20 a.m., somenoe entered CVS in the Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and stole merchandise valued at approximately $975.
