The 405 Freeway was briefly closed in both directions at Burbank Boulevard in Van Nuys on Sunday morning, where the Los Angeles Police Department has been dealing with a possibly armed suspect barricaded inside a vehicle on the southbound freeway, the California Highway Patrol said shortly after noon on Aug. 17.
The northbound side of the freeway was subsequently reopened, while the southbound lanes remained shut, authorities announced.
