Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham tease reissue, igniting fans’ reunion hopes

The sound of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s voices might be back to haunt fans as the Fleetwood Mac stars tease what’s hoped to be a reunion.

On Thursday, both the “Gypsy” crooner, 77, and the 75-year-old guitarist posted apparent call and response messages on Instagram.

“And if you go forward…” read two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Nicks’ post.

“I’ll meet you there,” read Buckingham’s, completing the “Frozen Love” lyric, off their “Buckingham Nicks” album, which has long been out of print.

“What in the ‘Silver Springs’ is going on around here!!!!” one fan commented on Nicks’ post, in reference to her now-beloved late 1970s track about the end of her romance with Buckingham, which he also memorialized in “Go Your Own Way.”

The Grammy winners teased fans offline as well, in the form of a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, which reads “September 19” over the cover of their 1973 album, according to an image making the rounds on X.

Billboard reports that the Los Angeles ad is currently greeting those near the very Sound City Studios where the album was recorded.

The outlet speculates “an announcement is imminent” after the album’s page was taken down.

In June 2024, Nicks shut down any possibility of a reunion for Fleetwood Mac “in any way,” following the 2022 death of bandmate Christine McVie, due to a stroke. She was 79.

It’s unclear what else she and Buckingham could have planned, not least because Nicks previously told Rolling Stone they’ve hardly spoken in recent years.

“I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could,” she said. “You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.”
