A south suburban man was sentenced Tuesday to eight years in prison for stabbing a Lincoln Square convenience store clerk nearly two years ago.
Nicholas Mann, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder in connection with the May 17, 2023, attack on a store clerk in the 5200 block of North Western Avenue.
Mann, of Chicago Heights, had been charged with stabbing the 51-year-old worker twice in his back with a knife during an altercation.
The victim was treated at Swedish Hospital and released, according to a police report.
Mann was arrested in February 2024 in south suburban Markham. He was charged with attempted murder and four counts of aggravated battery, which were dropped in a plea agreement.
Mann was given credit for 390 days already served in jail.
