Join EnActe’s crew
Aspire @ EnActe is looking for crew managers for its upcoming production of “A Muslim in the Midst.” The Sunnyvale-based theater company is taking applications for stage, costume and props managers for the show, which runs May 8-11 in downtown San Jose.
The stage manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the production, from rehearsals to performances. The costume manager oversees operation of the costume shop, while the props manager acquires and organizes all props and ensures their safe use.

“A Muslim in the Midst” by Anand Rao takes place on Sept. 12, 2001, and follows fraught conversation between a young, well-to-do urban couple and the rural visitors to whom they give a ride. Cars for careers
The Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) center is hosting its 19th annual Bob McTaggart Custom and Classic Car Show on Friday, May 2, 5-8 p.m., at the Metropolitan Education District, 760 Hillsdale Ave. in San Jose.
Each year, the event attracts hundreds of attendees who come to check out a wide variety of custom and classic vehicles. Attendees can vote for their favorites in nine categories.
The show supports SVCTE’s SkillsUSA chapter, which helps students develop hands-on skills and leadership experience in preparation for careers in automotive technology and related industries. Previous shows have raised over $10,000.
In addition to showcasing vehicles, the evening also features raffles, prizes, music and food prepared by SVCTE’s Culinary Arts students. Admission is free; for more information, visit https://bit.ly/4ik3zvX.
