The sixth bank holiday of the year falls on Monday, August 26, and spells a relaxed long weekend for most people.

Friday was unsettled as powerful winds battered the UK, prompting the Met Office to issue yellow weather warnings.

Fortunately, most major retailers are staying open, though hours may differ from normal in some places. Here’s our guide to these changes.
