WALNUT CREEK — A 54-year-old Livermore man was arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank Thursday in Walnut Creek, police said.
The robbery happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. at the Chase Bank branch located at 1390 South Main St., the Walnut Creek Police Department said in a news release.
Officers arrived at the scene minutes later and learned the suspect had passed a note to a teller demanding money, police said. He left in a vehicle after receiving an undisclosed sum.
No weapon was used during the robbery, police said.
At 1:07 p.m., officers stopped the vehicle on Olympic Boulevard and identified the driver as the man who robbed the bank, police said. Money stolen during the robbery was also recovered.
The man was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on a charge of robbery.
