A teacher booted out of the profession after a bunch of ‘excited’ schoolboys discovered images from her secret OnlyFans page has called it ‘a bad day for people’s freedom of expression’.
Kirsty Buchan, also known as Jessica Jackrabbit x, was working at Bannerman High School in Glasgow when she joined the site, describing herself as a ‘good teacher gone bad… really bad’.
The mum-of-one, 34, was struck off by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) who found she had ‘used her profession as a selling tool’, with the school ‘now synonymous with having an OnlyFans teacher’.
Ms Buchan called the tribunal a ‘kangaroo court’ and criticised the ‘heavy-handed’ decision to ban her from teaching.
‘I’m actually upset even though I knew it would go this way,’ she said.

She told the Daily Record: ‘I think it’s a bad day for people’s freedom of expression because I was dealing with an adult site and didn’t have any expectation of pupils even seeing the photos.’
Ms Buchan’s profile was discovered by pupils in 2022 and reported to headteacher Seonaidh Black.
Ms Black told the hearing: ‘I was approached by some S5 and S6 boys, who were very excited.

‘They were saying things like, “Have you heard the news”. I said something like ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about’ as I did not want to engage them in this kind of conversation.
‘I was then told something like, “If you haven’t heard, when you do, you’re going to go ballistic. Look out for Jessica Jackrabbit”.
‘As I came back into the building, at least two staff stopped to ask me if I knew about Kirsty. It was obvious at this point that everyone knew what was going on.’
Ms Buchan, who attended the school before becoming a teacher there, resigned in December 2022 and declined to appear at the hearing or give evidence.
She claimed to make £60,000 in just one month by posting photos on the adult site. Her bio described how she posted ‘big tits and sexy tight body’ photos ‘every couple of days’.

Hannah Oakley, who investigated the case for GTCS, told the tribunal the teacher failed to ‘ensure that her profile picture and bio’ were not accessible to those under 18.
Panel member Gary Burton said there was a ‘significant blurring of boundaries between her private life and her professional life’.
He added she had ‘used her profession in her bio as a selling tool’ and submitted her actions were ‘fundamentally incompatible with being a registered teacher’.
Ms Buchan told the Record she is a ‘loyal and decent’ person who lives her life ‘according to proper values’.
She added: ‘I know I was a very good teacher because I really cared about the kids I taught. I’d have loved to have carried on with both but that was taken away from me.
‘It really just makes me feel sad, to give me a life ban and make out that I’m a bad teacher when opposite is true.’
