Teen charged with murder in double-fatal shooting at Fort Collins mall

A 16-year-old boy faces murder charges after two men were shot and killed outside the Foothills Mall in Fort Collins earlier this month, according to court records.

Bryan Gallegos was charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and prohibited possession of a handgun by a juvenile, court records show.

Two men — identified by the Fort Collins Police Department as 37-year-old Ivan Arreguin and 27-year-old Luis Angel Arreguin — were shot outside the Foothills Mall at about 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5.

Paramedics took both men to the hospital, where they died from their injuries, police said. Gallegos was arrested early the next morning.

Gallegos is being held on a $2 million cash-only bail and is next scheduled to appear in court on May 29 for a disposition hearing, according to court records.
