A teenage girl was killed and two other victims were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting at a fire station near Aurora’s Hoffman Park, police said.
Officers responded just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the shooting near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2, at 12600 East Hoffman Boulevard, according to a news release from the police department.
Firefighters were returning to the station from another call when they found a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman who had been shot and immediately provided medical care, police said in the release.
Investigators found the crime scene in the fire station’s parking lot, according to the release.
Paramedics took both victims to the hospital, where the teenager later died from her injuries, police said. She will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
The woman is expected to survive, police said.
A third shooting victim, an unidentified juvenile, was discovered later Sunday morning, police said.
That victim was grazed by a bullet and is expected to survive.
The events leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, but police officials believe it was an isolated incident, the release stated.
As of Sunday morning, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
