A search is underway for a 14-year-old boy who went missing Tuesday in Lake Michigan in north suburban Zion.
The Lake County sheriff’s office has launched a boat in the lake and several drones in the air to search for the boy, who went under the water and didn’t emerge sometime Tuesday evening near Illinois Beach State Park, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said.
The U.S. Coast Guard and officials from several fire departments in the area also responded, the spokesperson said.
No other information was immediately available.
