Teenage girls arrested after woman left with ‘life-changing’ stab wounds

A woman and a teenage girl were seriously injured in a double stabbing as police arrest two teenage girls on suspicion of attempted murder.

Paramedics battled to save the two women on the quiet cul-de-sac in Erith, south London at 3pm on Sunday.

One of the victims, a 47-year-old woman, suffered ‘life-changing’ injuries after being stabbed in the stomach.

The other, an 18-year-old girl, is still in hospital where doctors are assessing her injuries.

Scotland Yard announced they have arrested two girls, both 16, on suspicion of attempted murder.

One of the teens, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and robbery.

They both remain in custody.

The older woman was found to have sustained ‘life-changing injuries to her abdomen’, police said after arriving to the scene in The Nursery.

A Met spokesman said: ‘The 18-year-old victim also remains in hospital. We await an update on her condition.’

The attack came hours before a man was stabbed to death outside a Wetherspoons pub in Chingford, north east London.

Witnesses have described how ‘hero’ pub staff battled to save the life of a man fatally stabbed in east London.

The 26-year-old victim was attacked opposite the King’s Ford Wetherspoons in Chingford Mount at around 9pm on Sunday evening.

Staff raced out of the pub with a defibrillator in an effort to save him, localstold Metro.
