A farmer who caught two young men trespassing on his land allegedly tied them to his quad bike before driving them four miles to the police station.

The man, 52, was arrested and released on bail after he allegedly strapped the men, aged 17 and 20, to the front and back of the quad bike in Lancashire.

While the two have walked free, one of them has recalled how terrifying the incident was when they talked to The Sun.

Leland Hornby, 17, said his friend was riding his electric bike on the land on Saturday night but when they tried to leave the gate was locked.

The friend decided to leave the bike on the land and return again in the morning once the gate had been opened.

But when he returned he was shocked to find that the bike had mysteriously disappeared.

Leland said: ‘As we walked back the farmer came up behind us, jumped off his quad bike and tackled us to the ground.’

The quick farmer managed to catch them both, before he pulled their hoods over their heads and tied them both up to his quad bike.

The pair said they weren’t tied up properly during the fast ride

He then sped off to the police station determined to hand them both in.

Leland said he was scared about what the farmer might do and added: ‘We couldn’t move. I was on the back of the quad bike and my friend at the front.’

He revealed that the pair were not securely fastened to the quad bike and at some moments felt like they were going to fall off.

CCTV captured the moment that the farmer whizzed through the streets with the guys all tied up.

Leland’s mum also said: ‘They were frightened to death. Absolutely terrified. The pair of them have nearly fallen off the quad bike.’

She said she was been left really upset about the farmer’s actions and doesn’t know why he didn’t just phone police.

Lancashire Police confirmed they were called to a property on Sunday by a man who said he had detained two males.

But as police made their way to the farm, the farmer called a second time to announce he had arrived at a local police station with the pair.

‘When officers went to meet the man, they found a teenager and a man in his 20s on a quad bike with their hands and feet tied,’ she said.

‘They were not secured to the quad bike’.

The farmer was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault but has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
