T. Rex isn’t extinct after all. Just two years after the Ram 1500 TRX’s production was capped off—ostensibly for good—with a Final Edition, the American supertruck has returned to become the “fastest and most powerful production gas pickup truck.” And for the first time ever, the TRX is sporting the Street and Racing Technology badge that has long signified ultimate performance evolutions on the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The last time any Ram pickup got an SRT spec was in 2006 with the Ram SRT-10.

“We started 2025 with a simple rallying cry—three words and three letters: The Last Tenth and LFG,” said RAM CEO and SRT Performance head Tim Kuniskis. “Our first moves were clear: revive the legendary HEMI V-8 and reignite the SRT Performance Division. So, would anyone really bet against TRX making a comeback? But bringing back the nameplate isn’t enough. Ram set the bar five years ago with 702 horsepower, and that benchmark has been challenged. SRT doesn’t limbo; we high-jump—and 721 wasn’t going to cut it. 777 horsepower? That’s the mark. And it represents more than power—it signals an awakening and a new path forward.”

Fans of the Ram 1500 likely saw this coming, as the Hemi V8 returned to the truck’s lineup for the 2026 lineup. In the SRT TRX, a 6.2-liter version of the Hemi V8 is force-fed air via a 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger, a dual-path induction system draws cool outside air through the side of the grille opening and the center-mounted hood scoop. The result is 777 horsepower, as Kuniskis said, and 680 pound-feet of torque, which are figures that best the next nearest competitor in its class by 57 hp and 40 pound-feet. The output is put to pavement via a robust eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the SRT TRX to hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with launch control engaged before maxing out at a class-topping 118 mph.

It also gets 11.8 inches of ground clearance, riding two inches higher and six inches wider than the Ram 1500 Rebel, the next-most off-road oriented pickup. These functional increases in width and height are complemented by composite fender flares that lend a purposeful hourglass design increase the body’s width by eight inches. Standard 18-inch Satin Black wheels shroud the largest brake rotors in the class and add another aggro touch. But for those who really want to flex, a special “Bloodshot Night Edition” package includes the following upgrades:

- A bespoke, hand-painted Blacktop exterior upper in Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat with a custom painted Flame Red center stripe
- A unique bodyside splash graphic, drawn from the front door through the bedside and integrated with the recognizable TRX graphic
- Red outline interior TRX badging
- Glass-encased TRX center console badge
- Carbon fiber with red anodized thread integrated into the weave pattern
- Standard beadlock-capable wheels, finished in Satin Black with Satin Titanium beadlock rings

The interior also gets a couple of TRX firsts, including a more opulent leather-wrapped airbag cover with red stitching, a full suede headliner, and carbon trim throughout. Level 2+ Hands-free Active Driving Assist will also automatically slow the vehicle down in tight curves and center the vehicle in its lane without driver input, making the TRX and the recently launched RHO, aka the “TRX-lite,” the only two pickups in their class to offer this advanced of an automated driving suite.

Priced from $102,590, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will arrive during the second half of 2026.
