Saturday. Danico Brewing will host its first-ever mini beer festival on Saturday, Aug. 16, out on the lawn at the brewery. Drinking With Friends, which runs from 1 to 4 p.m., will be “an epic afternoon of beer, community, and good vibes,” Danico said, featuring at least 10 other beer makers, including Milieu Fermentation, Wibby Brewing, Joyride Brewing, Launch Pad Brewery, Comrade Brewing, A Bit Twisted, Bent Barley Brewing, Los Dos Potrillos, Casey Blending and more.

The Bohemian Wurst Co. will be on hand with food, and Stevie Flowers will be doing flash tattoos. Get more information at  danicobrewing.com/event…/drinking-with-friends.

Acting out

Saturday-Oct. 5. When “Sweet & Lucky” debuted in 2016, Denver audiences had never seen anything like it. A theatrical experience, the production immersed people into its narrative by literally walking them through the rooms of a warehouse, all of which had been turned into a set that was populated by objects and actors who interacted with each one in different ways. In the intervening decades, “immersive” presentations have become part of the mainstream when it comes to art exhibitions, theater and other forms of entertainment and culture. So it will be interesting to see how Sweet & Lucky’s follow-up piece, “Sweet & Lucky: Echo,” holds up in the immersive new world of virtual reality, interactive theater and artificial intelligence.

The show was spearheaded by Zach Morris, a Denver native who moved to Brooklyn before returning to Colorado during the pandemic, and Third Rail Productions. It runs Aug. 16 through Oct. 5 at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ Off-Center at Broadway Park location at 407 S. Broadway. “Attendees will follow performers through a 360-degree warehouse of memories and help to unpack the chapters of their lives as they share flashbacks of their love story,” a DCPA description reads. Tickets run $59-$82.60 at denvercenter.org.

The bees knees

Saturday. Broomfield is hosting its fifth pollinator celebration of all things buzzy this weekend with the Bees & Blossoms Festival, taking place from 2 to 5 p.m. on The Big Green, a 62-acre park space that is part of the Baseline master-planned community. Previously known as Honey Bee Day, the festival is a free, family-friendly event that “blends education, entertainment, and community with a laid-back summer picnic feel,” organizers said.

There will be live music; aerialist shows; art and nature crafts; a beer and mead garden (proceeds benefit Denver Urban Gardens); and a vendor village of local makers selling honey, botanicals and handmade goods. The park is located at Promenade Street and West 166th Avenue. Go to baselinecolorado.com for more information.

Haunting melodies

Sunday. Composer, songwriter and former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman will join the Colorado Symphony and its chorus on stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Sunday, Aug. 17, to perform music he composed for some of the films directed by Tim Burton.

The live event includes parts of the scores from “Batman,” “Edward Scissorhands,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Beetlejuice” and more. The music will be “accompanied by a mesmerizing visual journey through Burton’s world, including original film sketches, drawings and storyboards projected on the big screen,” according to promoter AEG Presents. Elfman’s longtime collaborator and world-renowned violinist Sandy Cameron will also perform. Tickets start at $75 at axs.com. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30.
