Passport Fair – Van Nuys Post Office: The United States Postal Service location is holding the event, with extra staff, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 13. No appointment is required, but forms should be filled out in advance. To apply for a passport, bring a valid form of photo identification (driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID), and also a certified copy of birth certificate issued by the state where born (hospital-issued certificates are not acceptable, by the way). Alternatively, passport applicants may bring in an original certificate of naturalization, or an old passport. In addition, applicants may have their passport photo taken, for $15, at the event.
