Thousands of gallons of water covers homes after main bursts in Gloucester

A major burst water main has sent thousands of gallons of water flying 100ft into the air.
The huge jet of water was shooting from a pipe in Matson, Gloucester, after the water pipe burst earlier today.
One nearby house was completely battered by the huge stream of water – let’s hope their windows were closed – while nearby Sneedhams Road was flooded by the deluge.
Local water company Severn Trent managed to turn the water main off at about 2pm – leading to a large round of applause from nosy neighbours watching them work.
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘We want to thank local people and customers for their patience as our teams continue to manage a burst pipe in Matson.
‘We are liaising directly with anyone impacted by the burst, which is on one of our bigger pipes.
