Police arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of shooting three people across Aurora late Thursday night, leaving at least one with life-threatening injuries.
Around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, a 50-year-old woman was shot in her car in the 4400 block of South Eagle Circle, according to a statement from the Aurora Police Department.
Police believe the suspect then drove to the 4600 block of South Crystal Way — about half a mile southeast — and shot a 64-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man walking in the area.

Aurora officers located the suspect’s damaged car in the 14200 block of East Tufts Place, the police department said in the statement. Officers then saw a person matching the description of the shooter inside an apartment.
Police said four people were evacuated from inside the apartment unit as officers arrested the unidentified, white suspect. The 35-year-old was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The investigation shut down Aurora’s Smoky Hill Road in both directions between Quincy and Evanston for three hours overnight Thursday.
