Three keys from Bears’ win vs. Titans

Some pivotal plays from the Bears’ 24-17 win against the Titans at Soldier Field:

Block that punt

About six minutes into the second half, Bears defensive end Daniel Hardy blocked Ryan Stonehouse’s punt. Safety Jonathan Owens recovered it and ran 21 yards for the Bears’ first touchdown. It fired up a Soldier Field crowd that had grown quiet — as well as Owens’ wife, gymnast Simone Biles, who wrote on social media that she “almost had a heart attack.”

Pick-six

With the Bears down by one midway through the fourth quarter, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson intercepted a backhand flip by Titans quarterback Will Levis, who decided to do his best Jay Cutler impression rather than get sacked by DeMarcus Walker. Stevenson ran the interception down the Titans’ sideline for a 43-yard touchdown.

Kick it

Cairo Santos provided all the Bears’ offensive points by making field goals of 24, 50 and 48 yards. He missed only three of 38 field goals last year.

Latest on the Bears
Some fans said rookie quarterback Caleb Williams failed to live up to the pre-season hype. After trailing for three quarters, the defense and special teams lifted the Bears to a 24-17 win.
With Caleb Williams and the offense struggling, the Bears parlayed Daniel Hardy’s blocked punt and Tyrique Stevenson’s interception into their only two touchdowns in a 24-17 victory against the Titans at Soldier Field.
