A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after three people were killed in a single-car crash on the A46 in Leicestershire.
The group of four were heading south in a blue BMW 5 series in the early hours of yesterday morning when it veered off the road north-east of Leicester.
Police were called to the scene by the fourth person in the car, who suffered minor injuries, at around 1am.
Officers later confirmed a 37-year-old woman was arrested before being released from custody under investigation.
The A46 was closed in both directions in the immediate aftermath of the crash, with the road only fully reopening around 21 hours later.
