Three shot in uptown Oakland early Sunday

OAKLAND – Three people were shot in an exchange of gunfire at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday in the Uptown district, sending all three people to the hospital with one in critical condition, according to authorities.

Unknown suspects fired more than a dozen shots from at least two handguns that struck a 20-year-old San Francisco man, a 21-year-old Antioch man and a 26-year-old Bay Point woman in the 1900 block of Telegraph Avenue, Oakland police said.

The San Francisco man was shot multiple times and is in critical condition at a local area hospital. The Antioch man and the Bay Point woman are in stable condition, according to authorities. Two parked vehicles were also hit by gunfire.

Police have not made any arrests, and investigators are working to identify a motive for the shooting. No suspect information has been released from the incident.

The two wounded men acquired transportation to a local hospital, while the woman was taken from the scene in an ambulance, according to police.
