When the NFL drafted ended Saturday night, all 32 NFL teams began signing undrafted free agents to round out their roster.
As recently as two years ago the Bears leaned heavily on UDFA signings to round out their team. The last two years, the Bears have assembled a roster believing they can win right away. That’s limited the opportunities given to UDFAs.
The Bears have found some gems in recent years, though. Second-string Tyson Bagent went undrafted, as did Jack Sanborn, whom the Bears let leave for the Cowboys this offseason.
