Former television news anchor Kari Lake, who was selected by President Donald Trump to serve as acting CEO of United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), is celebrating the engagement of her 22-year-old daughter, Ruby Halperin.
As seen below, Lake shared photos of her future son-in-law, Stetson, on one knee proposing at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. According to Lake, the “two sweethearts met in politics as volunteers on the campaign trail.”
Our baby’s engaged
Stetson asked Ruby to marry him—and she said yes!
These two sweethearts met in politics as volunteers on the campaign trail—fittingly, their proposal unfolded at one of Washington, DC’s most beautiful landmarks, the Library of Congress.
We are blessed!

The Kari Lake War Room account on X responded to the news: “It’s truly incredible how many lasting relationships formed during your governor campaign. That was a special time for everyone.”
[Note: Lake continues “to struggle to admit” that she lost the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election to Democrat Katie Hobbs, and the 2024 U.S. Senate election in Arizona to Democrat Ruben Gallego.]
Lake re-shared the photos this week, but this time with a handwritten note from the President scrawled across the photos. Trump’s autographed message, written with his signature black marker, reads: “Central Casting — Two Beautiful People — Perfect — Have a great life.”
So sweet to receive this from 47 tonight. He is so thoughtful
I shared it with Stetson and Ruby and they couldn’t believe President Trump took time out of his busy schedule to send a handwritten message to them on their engagement.
Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump

Lake added the comment: “So sweet to receive this from 47 tonight. He is so thoughtful. I shared it with Stetson and Ruby and they couldn’t believe President Trump took time out of his busy schedule to send a handwritten message to them on their engagement.”
[Note: Trump’s busy schedule this week included his ninth cabinet meeting, where he displayed less sweetness by calling Somali immigrants in Minnesota “garbage.”]
