President Donald Trump’s favorite foods and desserts have been revealed thanks to questions from the curious children of journalists at an annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event.
The children sat on chairs in the James Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House and asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt questions about the president on Tuesday afternoon.
A boy named Frankie wanted to know what Trump’s favorite food is.
‘Well, President Trump loves a lot of different foods but I think his favorite is probably steak,’ replied Leavitt.

‘I’ve had steak with him on many occasions and he likes to eat a big beautiful steak. Do you like steak, Frankie?’
Another child who was well aware of Trump’s well-documented penchant for McDonald’s asked what his favorite order is at the popular American fast food chain.
‘He loves McDonald’s hamburgers and French fries,’ Leavitt said.
‘Who doesn’t? They’re good.’

Another child asked how much candy Trump, 78, eats per day.
‘A good amount of candy,’ the press secretary said.
‘Yes, he likes pink Starburst and Tootsie Rolls.’
Yet another child wanted to know what Trump’s favorite ice cream is.

‘Oh, I have seen the president eat ice cream sundaes before with chocolate sauce and some toppings too,’ Leavitt said.
‘Raise your hand if you like ice cream sundaes. It’s a very popular policy position to have.’
One child asked a whimsical question that elicited a more serious response from Leavitt.
‘If the president could have one superpower, what would it be?’ the boy asked.
Leavitt complimented him on ‘a very good question’.
‘I think if he had a superpower, it would be to just snap his fingers and solve all of our country’s problems just like that, because he likes to get things done very quickly but sometimes it takes a little bit longer like,’ she said.
‘Like today he had to go to Capitol Hill to convince people to vote for his one big beautiful bill. I bet if he had a superpower, he would snap his fingers and get it passed immediately, but life doesn’t work that way.
Leavitt also fielded some questions that were more controversial, like the state of the border.
‘I can assure you the border is the most secure it has ever been in the history of our country,’ she said.
Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump welcomed children to the East Garden of the White House and joined them in a patriotic arts and crafts activity decorating American flags.
‘It is always special to see children’s creativity and spirit on display, especially here at the White House where so many hardworking men and women support the success of our nation every day,’ she stated.
