REDWOOD CITY — Two men were arrested last week on suspicion of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Redwood City rug shop, according to authorities.
The alleged heist happened June 1 at the Medallion Rug Gallery, located at 370 Convention Way. The Redwood City Police Department said at least three suspects were caught on camera stealing a variety of items valued at $150,000 to $200,000.
Officers identified two of the suspects as residents of Redwood City, ages 40 and 32. The 40-year-old man was arrested on June 3 and the 32-year-old man on June 4.
A “substantial amount of stolen property” was also recovered, according to authorities.
The third suspect remains at large.
The suspects were booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on charges including commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. Both had prior theft convictions, police said.
The case remains under investigation.
