Two passenger planes have collided at LaGuardia Airport in New York City with one of the jet’s wings ripped off.
The CRJ-900 regional jets, operated by Delta Airlines, were taxiing when they clipped into each other yesterday evening.
Some 85 passengers were on board across both planes, and only one person, a flight attendant, was injured and taken to hospital.
One person described his plane as ‘absolutely smashed’ after landing in New York from Charlotte, North Carolina.
He told CBS news: ‘We were taxiing to our runway and we got absolutely smashed by another Delta flight… I don’t know if we hit them or they hit us but it was super jarring.
‘Everyone shot forward in their seats, it was a little chaotic, we were shocked at what happened.’
