An outside agency called university police about 11:05 p.m. and reported that someone was stalking women in the area, according to a statement from police spokesperson Sgt. Jacob Westlie. UCPD officers arrived about 15 minutes later and determined from an initial investigation that an attempted sexual assault had occurred.
According to Westlie, the attempted sexual assault happened between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the pathway between Eighth Street and Tenth Street, adjacent to the baseball fields.
Officers looked throughout the area but were unable to find a suspect.
