HUNDREDS have flocked to beaches and Glasto revellers have doused each other in water to cool off – as Brits bask in a 21C scorcher.

The mercury hit 22C in London, Kent and much of East Anglia this afternoon.

Snaps show people making the most of the sunshine on Weymouth beach in Dorset.

Tennis fans have also been enjoying the glorious weather at the Rothesay International in Eastbourne on the south coast.

And revellers were spotted dousing each other in water in a bid to stay cool at Glastonbury.

Buts parts of northern England and Wales will stay cloudy, with patchy rain and drizzle.

Tonight scattered showers will push across Scotland and Northern Ireland.

A band of cloud and patchy rain will creep southwards across England and Wales.

Tomorrow will be somewhat cloudy with southern England enjoying the best of any sunshine.

It will be a little cooler than today and there will be showers as the day progresses.

Rain will move into the north west on Monday, but it will be largely dry elsewhere.

Tuesday will be brighter with a mix of sunshine and showers, before rain returns to the north west on Wednesday.

Temperatures will hover around the average for this time of year, forecasters said.

Through this evening and overnight, scattered showers will continue across Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland.

Cloud and patchy rain will move slowly southwards across England and Wales.

Sunday

Sunday will tend to be a cloudy day, with the best of any sunshine across southern counties of England.

Showers will develop as the day progresses. Generally feeling cooler.

Monday to Wednesday

Rain will move into the northwest on Monday, largely dry elsewhere.

Brighter on Tuesday with sunshine and showers, ahead of further rain moving into the northwest Wednesday.
