A food staple – bread – has been recalled after glass fragments were found on the top surface of some loaves.
Upper Crust Bakery LP is recalling over 800 cases of three types of its bread after the discovery of the sharp objects was made, according to a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notice.
Affected items include 699 cases of 18-ounce Multigrain Sourdough, 89 cases of 4-ounce Ancient Grains Hoagie Roll, and 30 cases of 20-ounce Whole Grain Multigrain, all frozen and in paper cartons.
The reason stated for the recall is ‘glass fragment found on top of bread’.

The affected bread was distributed to stores in six US states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Both the Multigrain Sourdough and Ancient Grains Hoagie Roll have the lot number 90, while the Whole Grain Multigrain has the lot number 92.
