Urgent search for ‘distressed’ woman captured crying on doorbell camera

Police are urgently searching for a woman who was caught on a doorbell camera crying late at night.

The young woman was first seen standing ‘in a distressed state’ next to a roundabout on the A14 in Kettering, Northamptonshire at 10.20pm on Thursday.

She was then captured on a business’s doorbell camera at 11pm and appeared to be crying.

Northamptonshire Police said: ‘Officers are urgently trying to trace the female to make sure that she is safe and well after she was visibly upset on the door camera of a local business at about 11pm.

‘Officers investigating both incidents would like to hear from anyone who may have seen her at junction 9 of the A14 or on the Kettering Parkway Industrial Estate.

‘They would particularly, like to hear from anyone who may have captured her on dash-cam footage.

‘An image has been issued but sadly this is not of a particularly decent quality.

‘However, if you do recognise the person, please contact us as a matter of urgency.’

The woman, who was white and appeared to be in her mid-teens to early 20s, has long dark hair and was wearing distinctive framed glasses.

Anyone with information about the her whereabouts should call 101 quoting incident number 422 of 28/06/24.
