CALABASAS — Police in Longview, Washington, sought public assistance Monday to locate an allegedly armed murder suspect after his unoccupied vehicle was discovered in Calabasas, leading investigators to believe the 51-year-old man is still in the vicinity.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lost Hills station located the vehicle in the 23000 block of Calabasas Road. Details about when the vehicle arrived at its location were not provided, but authorities said the suspect was believed to be armed and in the city of Calabasas.
Investigators identified Alexander Lee Rogers of Longview, a city north of Vancouver, as a person of interest in the Aug. 5 murder of Dawn Peters, 64, and the attempted murder of Andrew Peters, 73, according to the Longview Police Department.
Both victims were also Longview residents.
Rogers was described as 6-foot-2-inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He was believed to be traveling in a partially spray-painted black BMW with Washington license plate BNU8712.
Anyone with information regarding Rogers’ whereabouts was urged to call 911 or contact the Longview Police Department at 360-442-5800. Tipsters who choose to remain anonymous can text “tips” to 360-431-6397.
