WALNUT CREEK — A 16-year-old girl died Saturday and four other people were hospitalized in a head-on crash, police said.
At least one of the injured was under 18, police said.

Authorities have not identified the girl, citing the investigation.
The girl died at the scene.
Police said four other people involved in the crash were hospitalized, one of them a person under 18 years old who was flown to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland. Police did not have an update on any of those four, nor did they say how many people were in each car.
Police also cited the investigation in declining to answer how the wreck happened.
A citizen who was at the scene took a dog involved in the crash to a veterinary hospital, police said.
