Meanwhile, Custard Cream connoisseurs most accurately represent the country, with their voting intention almost exactly matching the wider population in recent polls.
On Sun show Never Mind The Ballots, pollster Luke Tryll explained: “If only Digestive lovers went out to vote, the Tories would only be looking at a 1997 style victory.
“They really need that Chocolate Digestive vote turnout on election day.
“If there were only Maryland Cookie and Oreo eaters went out to vote we would be talking about a Tory wipe out, with a Labour majority in the 200 to 300s.”

On Never Mind The Ballots Mr Tryll also discussed focus group reactions to Nigel Farage – the king of Garibaldis.

Mr Farage, who is a candidate in Clacton, insists his party will overtake the Conservatives to become the “official opposition” to Labour.
Mr Tryll told Political Editor Harry Cole that the Reform Chief is appealing to a wider range of voters than some may think.
He said: “He is the ultimate Marmite politician.
“You get those people – and there’s a lot of them – that say ‘I like the fact that he speaks his mind, he’s not putting on an act, he’s authentic’.
“You get other people that just can’t stand him and ask ‘why is he popping back up again?’
“I think the big question which we’ve been trying to dig into is those, those people who do like him, that find him refreshing, would they really want him as leader of the opposition?”
