Shouldn’t we be talking about all the good things Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is doing?
Oh, please. Have you met us?
In this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, topic No. 1 was which thing Williams is most in need of getting better at. Getting rid of the ball quickly and on time? Starting faster?
“He needs to get in a fourth-quarter mindset starting with the first drive,” @RonaldVoigt4 commented.
But a majority of voters went instead with old-fashioned accuracy, which @davesned called “a byproduct of thinking too much and inconsistent footwork.”
Next, we asked for your Bears-Browns winner on Sunday.
“If Myles Garrett goes crazy, the Browns win,” @JBIRD1268 cautioned.
“It’s never easy for these Bears,” @JeffreyCanalia wrote.
Last, we asked which College Football Playoff first-round road team — James Madison? Tulane? Miami? Alabama? — is the best bet to win. Believe it or not, Alabama received a decent-size chunk of the vote. Who knew Alabama was any good at football?
On to the polls:
Poll No. 1: What’s the No. 1 thing Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has to get better at?
It’s time for this week’s “Polling Place.” Let us hear from you! Selected comments will appear in Sunday’s paper.
Poll No. 1: What’s the No. 1 thing Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has to get better at?

Upshot: Not to argue with the sensibility and wisdom of our voters, but doesn’t accuracy come as a result of making good decisions, having good timing, etc.? Then again, who knows? This is Bears country, and we’ve been waiting to witness good QB play for a heck of a long time.
Poll No. 2: The Bears host the Browns on Sunday. What’s your pick?

Upshot: Bears by any digits, any digits at all — even a measly “1” — will get the job done just fine, thanks.
Poll No. 3: Which College Football Playoff first-round road team is your best bet to win?

Upshot: We know what you’re thinking, and you’re absolutely right — none of these road teams would beat Notre Dame on a neutral field. (What, you weren’t thinking that? Never mind, then.)
