The WNBA will televise all of its preseason games, including a national broadcast of the Sky’s exhibition against the Brazilian national team at LSU on Friday. That game is part of a push to get stars like Angel Reese back to their college arenas, including the Fever’s Caitlin Clark playing at Iowa and the Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu taking the court at Oregon.
Reese’s return to LSU will air nationally on ION, and this is the first time in league history that all preseason games will be available on TV or streaming. Of the 15 games, 14 will be on WNBA League Pass as part of a free preview offer and the other is on ESPN.
The league has had only one preseason game on national TV in its history and now will have four between ION, ESPN and NBATV.
ION will show the Sky’s game against Brazil as the second part of a doubleheader featuring No. 1 pick Paige Bueckers making her debut as the Wings play the Aces at Notre Dame. Former Notre Dame standouts Arike Ogunbowale, Jackie Young and Jewell Lloyd.
The Sky will play three preseason games, with the other two against the Lynx on May 6 in Chicago and May 10 in Minneapolis. Both of those will stream on League Pass.
The game Friday features not only Reese playing at LSU, where she won a national championship, but center Kamila Cardoso facing the national team from her home country. Cardoso played internationally for Brazil from 2021 through ’24.
The Sky open the season May 17 at the Fever in a game that will air nationally on ABC.
