It happened about 11:25 a.m., police said, when they responded to a call of a person down in the 7500 block of North Paulina Street.
The unidentified woman, 58, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
“Red, Purple, and Yellow line trains are back operating normally following a medical emergency on board a Red Line train at Howard earlier this afternoon,” a CTA representative said in a brief statement.
