Woman, 70, found dead at her home in ‘unexpected and unexplained’ death as cops launch urgent probe

COPS have launched a probe after the “unexpected and unexplained” death of a woman, 70, who was found dead at home.

Police were called to Rita Fleming’s property in Golborne Road, West London, at around 9.45am on Sunday, June 23.

Officers forced their way into the house after welfare concerns were raised.

They discovered Rita unresponsive inside and she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Rita’s death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained while detectives launch an investigation.

A post-mortem examination has taken place.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “My team continues to work to establish the events that led to Rita’s death. This includes trying to build as comprehensive a picture as possible about her movements in the days prior to her being found.

“I would ask anyone who saw or heard from Rita from the June 20 to June 23 or anyone who has information they think could be relevant to this investigation, to get in contact with police immediately.”
