Woman, 78, killed in Asda car park pictured after family pays tribute

A woman who was killed in an Asda car park has been pictured after her family paid tribute to ‘a beautiful soul taken from us too soon’.
Margaret Crichton, 78, was hit by a van while walking back to her car at the supermarket in Oldham, Greater Manchester, earlier this month.
She suffered ‘significant’ injuries in the December 18 collision and died in hospital the following day.
An inquest has since been opened and adjourned at Rochdale Coroners’ Court.
Margaret’s family paid tribute to her in a statement released afterwards, saying: ‘In loving memory of Margaret Crichton (Mac).

‘A beautiful soul taken from us too soon, dear sister, friend, aunt and great aunt.
‘Sadly missed by all who knew her.’
The short inquest hearing was told Margaret was born in Wallsend, Northumberland, and lived in Shaw, Oldham.
She was a retired midwifery tutor at the University of Manchester, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Paramedics performed CPR on her at the scene, and she was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital, the court heard.
But she died on December 19.
The police investigation into her death is ongoing and the coroner adjourned the hearing to resume once that has been concluded.
