A woman died while in custody at the Denver County Jail after she was found unresponsive, sheriff’s officials said Friday.
The woman was found in a housing unit at 2:40 p.m. and an emergency medical team tried to perform life-saving measures, the Denver Sheriff Department said in a news release.
She was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Denver Police Department will investigate the death. The woman’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
