Woman sexually assaulted in city park as cops seal off all entrances & launch urgent hunt

A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted in a city centre park – with cops sealing off all entrances and launching an urgent hunt

Cops were called to Splott Park in Cardiff around at 3.25am this morning after the 44-year-old victim alerted a member of the public.

Officers are now probing the “serious sexual assault” and have cordoned off the park.

Detective Inspector Kath Barry said: “The victim is being supported by specialist police officers.

“Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident.

“A scene is in place and a number of officers will be seen in area as our investigations continue.”

DI Barry appealed for anyone who was near the park between 2am and 4am this morning to come forward.

She also asked anyone with information which could help cops to call 101 quoting reference number 2400316906.
